The shooting outside actor Disha Patani’s home was not just meant to create fear, but it may be linked to a bigger plot. The same gun, which was previously used in the murders of Punjabi singer-turned-politician Sidhu Moosewala and gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed in Prayagraj, has been used for firing outside Patani’s house.

The police have recovered a Turkish-made Zigana pistol and a huge amount of 9 mm cartridges from the accused, who was killed in the encounter. These pistols are reportedly smuggled for serious crimes, including contract killings.

On Wednesday, two men—identified as Ravindra, alias Kallu, a native of Rohtak, and Arun, a resident of Sonipat—were killed in an encounter with the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) in Ghaziabad.

“Ravindra and Arun were the two accused identified during the investigation, and two more individuals who were hired for recce were also identified. The two accused who fired are found to be working for the Goldy Brar gang, and Goldy Brar had taken the responsibility of the attack via social media… The gang was worked out, and the two shooters were shot down in an encounter…,” ADG Yash told ANI.

He also informed that “The accused were declared dead after they were taken to the hospital, and information about all the members of the gang is being worked out so that action can be taken on the entire gang.”

On Thursday, actor Disha Patani’s father and retired Circle Officer, Jagdish Patani, expressed gratitude to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for taking action against the accused.

“I thank UP CM Yogi Adityanath on behalf of me and my family. As he had assured me, he found the criminals and took such strict action. I had a telephonic conversation with CM Yogi Adityanath today and thanked him, as under his guidance, the UP government and UP police are fully realising the vision of a fear-free society,” he said in a video message.
