One Killed, 4 Injured In Collision Between Wetlease Bus And Tempo At Mumbai’s Dadar Plaza

A Mateshwari wet-lease bus collided with a Tempo traveller near Plaza bus stop in Dadar, killing one person and injuring four others. A probe is underway.

One person was killed in a tragic accident that took place near the Plaza bus stop in Dadar after a Mateshwari wet-lease bus collided with a tempo traveller. As per the official records, the accident occurred on Sunday night. Four people sustained injuries.

The accident occurred around 11:30 pm, when the bus, operating on route number 169, was returning to Pratiksha Nagar Depot from Worli Depot. As it reached the Plaza bus stop, a tempo traveller coming from Dadar TT towards Shivaji Park lost control and struck the right front tyre of the bus.

Due to the impact, the bus tilted to the left side and hit pedestrians and passengers waiting at the stop. One person, identified as Shahabuddin (37), died on the spot, while four others, Rahul Ashok Padale (30), Rohit Ashok Padale (33), Akshay Ashok Padale (25), and Vidya Rahul Mote (28), sustained injuries.

The bus conductor and police personnel present at the scene immediately transported the injured to Sion Hospital. Doctors declared Shahabuddin dead upon arrival, while the others are receiving treatment.

The tempo traveller also collided with a taxi and a tourist car, causing damage to both vehicles. The bus suffered a burst front tyre and a broken windscreen. Shivaji Park Police Station is investigating the case. The bus has been released by police and towed to Wadala depot for an RTO inspection.
