The Supreme Court on Monday stayed certain provisions of the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025. A bench of Chief Justice of India B R Gavai and Justice A G Masih ordered a stay on multiple clauses of the law. Among them is Section 3(1)(r), which mandates that a person must have been a practicing Muslim for five years to create a Waqf. Read more

‘No Case Made’: Supreme Court Declines To Suspend Entire Waqf Act In Big Verdict

The Supreme Court on Monday declined to put the entire Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025, on hold, noting that no such case had been made out for such an order.
