Two new Vande Bharat trains, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, will start commercial operations from this weekend, offering fastest connectivity from the national capital to Bikaner and Jodhpur. The Vande Bharat for Jodhpur will start operations on Saturday while the one for Bikaner will start commercial services from Sunday, Railway Ministry officials told News18.

So far, the fastest train for Bikaner from Delhi was Intercity Express (22472) that takes seven hours and 35 minutes. The Vande Bharat will cover the distance in just six hours and 20 minutes.

The Bikaner-Delhi Vande Bharat (26471) will start at 5.40 am from Bikaner and conclude the journey at 11.55 am at Delhi Cantt. It will cost Rs 2,140 for the executive class and Rs 1,125 for the chair car.

On its way back, the train (26472) will start from Delhi at 4.45 pm and will reach Bikaner at 11.05 pm. The train will stop at Sri Dungargarah, Ratanagarh, Churu, Sadulpur, Loharu, Mahendragarh, and Gurgaon. The eight coach Vande Bharat will run on all days except Wednesday.

Last month, Bikaner MP and Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal posted on X about this train getting approval from the Indian Railways. This is the first time that a Vande Bharat will connect Bikaner.

For Jodhpur, it is the second Vande Bharat after the one for Sabarmati (Ahmedabad). The Jodhpur-Delhi Cantt train will start from Saturday and will operate for six days a week covering the journey in eight hours and 10 minutes. The executive class travel will cost Rs 2,880 and chair car Rs 1,610 between Jodhpur and Delhi.

This train will start from Jodhpur at 5.25 am and will conclude the journey at 1.30 pm at Delhi Cantt. On the way back, it will start at 3.10 pm and will reach Jodhpur at 11.20 pm. The train will also stop at Jaipur on the way.

Currently only Ajmer–Chandigarh Vande Bharat train connects parts of Rajasthan, including the capital Jaipur and Alwar, with the national capital. Two Vande Bharat trains are operational from Udaipur – one for Jaipur and another for Agra. With these new trains, the total Vande Bharat service for the state will be five.

In August, the total count of Vande Bharat trains touched 75 as three trains were inaugurated in one go. Another Vande Bharat between Danapur and Jogbani was started this month.

The first Vande Bharat was introduced on February 15, 2019 – between New Delhi and Varanasi. The trains are currently available in 8-car, 16-car, and 20-car sets, depending upon the route and demand.

For commuters, tourists, and business travelers alike, these new Vande Bharat services promise not just speed, but comfort and convenience — making the journey between Delhi and Rajasthan cities a truly modern travel experience.
