
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that India is working towards building its own space station during the National Space Day address to the nation on Saturday. “Today, India is rapidly advancing in breakthrough technologies like semi-cryogenic engines and electric propulsion. Gaganyaan Mission: Initially approved in December 2018, the Gaganyaan programme is designed to launch human spaceflight missions and lay the basis of the Indian Human Spaceflight Programme. Chandrayaan-4 Mission: This mission is aimed at developing technologies required for safe return to Earth after a successful landing on the moon. It was approved on September 14, 2024, and is expected to be completed within 36 months. (File Photo)

Bharatiya Antariksh Station: Also known as the Indian Space Station, this is a planned space station to be constructed by India and operated by ISRO.
