Speeding Thar crashes into divider on Kanpur-Varanasi highway near Prayagraj.

A major accident was narrowly escaped after a speeding Thar lost control and crashed into a divider on the Kanpur-Varanasi National Highway near Prayagraj on Wednesday. The incident occurred near Shringverpur in the Nawabganj area.

The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to spin multiple times on the road. None is reported to be injured in the accident

The entire incident was captured on CCTV installed near a shop on the side.

Fortunately, the car did not overturn in the middle of the road, and no vehicles were coming from behind at the time — preventing what could have been a much more serious accident.

Despite speed limits being in place on this highway, the absence of speed-monitoring cameras on this route is leading to frequent cases of overspeeding.

Authorities fear that such reckless driving could result in major accidents if preventive measures are not taken soon.
