A tragic case of murder involving a married woman and her lover has emerged from Maharashtra’s Nanded. The killing is being linked to an illicit love affair, and therefore, the woman’s family has allegedly killed them, which is being termed as a case of honour killing.

According to sources, the woman’s father killed his married daughter and her lover, disposing off their bodies in a well.

The incident came to light on Monday, August 25, in Golegaon when the lover went to the woman’s in-laws’ house to meet her, where they were caught in a compromising situation. The in-laws apprehended them and informed the woman’s father. The father, along with two other individuals, came to Golegaon.

Upon hearing the details from the in-laws, the father and relatives beat the woman and her lover inhumanly. The woman’s husband was also present at the time. The two reportedly died due to the beating. Subsequently, the bodies were thrown into a deep well.

As soon as the information about the incident came to light, Bhokar’s Upper Superintendent of Police, Archana Patil, and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Dashrath Patil, Police Inspector Ankush Mane visited the spot and took information.

The body of deceased Sanjivani was taken out of the well at night. However, the body of Lakhan Bhandare could not be found till late night.

It was informed that the police have taken the deceased girl’s father, husband and others into custody in connection with the case. The police are investigating the matter.
