In a significant raid prompted by complaints of illegal activities, Jodhpur police targeted two spa and massage centres, resulting in the arrest of eight women and seven men. Among the detained women, three are foreign nationals, one from Kenya and two from Thailand.

The revelation that one of these women tested HIV positive has sparked widespread alarm. The spa centres, Asian Saga and Sky Step, were reportedly frequented by numerous prominent figures and government officials. The operations were led by Police Commissioner Om Prakash and took place in the Shastri Nagar area on Wednesday.

The arrests have heightened police concern, particularly around the HIV positive status of one foreign woman. Authorities are now investigating how many individuals might have come into contact with her, potentially spreading the virus. This inquiry extends beyond Jodhpur, considering the possibility of visitors from neighbouring districts.

A team from the Police Commissioner’s Office is diligently working to identify all individuals who may have been exposed. They are also probing the involvement of brokers and the foreign woman’s acquaintances, both male and female, in the illicit activities.

Reports of unlawful activities at these spa centres had been persistent, prompting the well-planned raids. The foreign women’s C-forms were found to be incomplete, which will lead to separate actions against them and potentially the spa centre owners.
