In a heartbreaking incident that occurred on Sunday, a father died while saving his son from the Solapur floodwaters. While the son was saved, the father could not tackle the high current and drowned.
The victim, identified as 42-year-old David Satish Bansode and his 6-year-old son, Anugrah, had gone to see the river near the Kolhapur Dam on the Nagjari River in Dhamangaon Dumala. The father-son moment turned upside down after the boy slipped into the water.

Without a moment’s delay, his father jumped into the water to save him.
Anugrah was pulled out of the water, but unable to swim against the current, he slipped and drowned. Meanwhile, people present at the site tried to save David, but were unsuccessful.
After a while David was pulled out of the water, he was rushed to a hospital in Barshi for treatment, but doctors declared him dead. Meanwhile, the drowned child, Anugrah, is undergoing treatment.
