An Amity University student in Lucknow was allegedly slapped “50 to 60 times” by a group of his classmates inside a car on the campus, the video of which went viral on social media.

The incident took place on August 26 in the parking lot of the university, when the victim, identified as Shikhar Mukesh Kesarwani, reached the campus in a vehicle of his friend.

The victim’s father filed a complaint against those involved – Ayush Yadav, Jahnvi Mishra, Milay Banerjee, Vivek Singh and Aryaman Shukla, NDTV reported.

What Did The Father Say?

Shikhar’s father said that the incident has traumatised his son, who is a BA LLB student, and he no longer wants to attend college, the report said.

Sharing further details, the father said that Shikhar was ambushed by the accused students when he arrived at the parking lot and they told him that they needed to speak with him. They boarded the vehicle and allegedly threatened and verbally abused him, he alleged.

“On August 11, my son underwent ligament surgery. He was walking with the help of a stick. Jahnvi Mishra and Ayush Yadav then slapped my son at least 50 to 60 times and also abused me and my parents. They also threatened to kill us,” NDTV quoted the father as saying.

“During all this time, Vivek Singh and Milay Banerjee recorded the assault and circulated the video on the campus. They also broke my son’s phone. When I visited the college, they threatened me and told me to never come again. They threatened to assault me in a similar way,” the father added.

What’s There In Viral Video?

The viral video showed a female student, who stood on the front seat, slapping the student on his left cheek, while also ordering him to keep his hand in check.

Disclaimer: The video contains abusive language

“Haath niche” (put your hand down), she told the student.

A male student on Shikhar’s right then punches him on his right cheek when he tries to protect himself with his hands.

The female student said to Shikhar, “Kya bola tha tumne? Character? Character?” She assaulted him again.

“Character ka bola tha. Haath niche kar. You will talk about Jahnvi and Soumya?” a male student said, while continuing the assault.
