In her complaint to police on Tuesday, the victim, who is a divorcee alleged that the accused took away her mobile phone and his belongings and abandoned her.

The accused teacher, Abay Mathew, assured the victim to help her and arranged a rented house for her in Bengaluru. Both started living together in the same house.

The complainant further alleged that the accused had promised to marry her and, on that assurance, engaged in sexual relations with her. They continued to live together as husband and wife.
