‘GST 2.0 Biggest Reform Since 1975’: Pralhad Joshi At Network18 Reforms Reloaded

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi on Monday called the recently announced GST 2.0 the “biggest reform in India since 1975″, saying it brings major relief to both consumers and businesses. He was speaking at the Network18 Reforms Reloaded event in New Delhi

Joshi, who is the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, pointed out that daily essentials like dosa, filter coffee and even toothpaste are now tax-free under GST 2.0.

“Tax on dosa was 18% — now it is 0. Good filter coffee is also 0 now. Things of daily use like toothpaste are also 0. This will increase the purchasing power of people, and it will lead to more business. Increasing business takes time, but one has to be patient,” the Union Minister said.
