Election Commission to implement SIR across the country simultaneously, EC sources indicate* Election Commission to purify/update the voters’ list nationwide* All state CEOs asked to prepare a PowerPoint presentation on 10 key points* A major meeting of the Election Commission with Chief Electoral Officers on September 10 in Delhi regarding SIR* Suggestions also sought on additional documents to include Indian citizens in the list* Presentations sought on 10 points including current number of voters, date and data of the last SIR, and digitization status* Report to include rationalization of polling stations and total number of centers* Focus also on appointment and training status of officials and BLOs* SIR process already underway in Bihar, to be completed by September 30* The Commission has not yet officially fixed the nationwide rollout date, but sources indicate that SIR will be implemented nationwide simultaneously* Final decision on SIR dates will be taken after the September 10 meeting* *ECI had said in Its Bihar SIR Order that after Bihar, SIR to be conducted in entire country.
