Dome Collapses In Delhi’s Humayan Tomb Complex, Several Feared Trapped

A portion of the roof of a Dargah located within the Humayun’s Tomb complex in New Delhi’s Nizamuddin area collapsed on Friday, with several people reported to be trapped under the rubble.

According to initial reports, a call was received around 4:30 PM alerting authorities to the incident. Emergency services, including the Delhi Fire Service (DFS), responded quickly and reached the site.

Several individuals were rescued by locals, while DFS teams pulled out three more people from the debris. No deaths have been reported so far.

DFS officials said that eight to nine people are feared trapped, and five fire tenders were rushed to the spot, according to PTI.

News18.com has not independently verified this information.

A detailed inspection is underway, and rescue teams remain at the site.

The Humayun’s Tomb complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to a mid-16th-century Mughal-era mausoleum, visited frequently by tourists from around the world.
