Delhi-NCR Feels The Chill As Torrential Rain Drenches City, Temperature Dips | Check Forecast

Delhi weather: The maximum and minimum temperatures expected around 31 degree celsius and 20 degree celsius on Wednesday.

Delhiites are experiencing the season’s first chill after intense rain lashed out at the city. The temperature has dipped, bringing respite from the scorching heat. However, the rain caused waterlogging and traffic jams in several parts.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the temperature also significantly dropped in the city following rain. The maximum temperature settled at 29.8 degrees Celsius, 4.4 notches below normal. A sharp drop from Sunday’s high of 36 degrees Celsius.

Delhi Weather Forecast 

As per the officials, Delhi’s minimum temperature is expected to dip by 1–2 degrees Celsius from Wednesday onwards, following fresh snowfall in the upper Himalayas.

The IMD has forecasted cloudy skies on Wednesday and placed the city under the green zone, with maximum and minimum temperatures expected around 31 degree celsius and 20 degree celsius, respectively.

The minimum temperature on Tuesday was 21 degrees Celsius, 1.3 notches below normal.

Heavy rains brought traffic movement to a crawl across several parts of Delhi. Visuals from Delhi-Gurugram border show long queues of cars moving slowly amid the intense rain.

15 Flights Were Diverted

As many as 15 flights were diverted at the Delhi airport on Tuesday due to heavy rain in the national capital. As per the officials, out of the 15 flights, 8 were diverted to Jaipur, 5 to Lucknow and 2 to Chandigarh.

“There’s a heavy downpour over #Delhi at the moment, causing some temporary disruption to flight schedules. If you’re travelling today, please be aware of potential delays and allow additional time for your journey, especially with traffic moving slower than usual.

“We’re monitoring the situation closely and will get you airborne as soon as possible,” IndiGo said in a post on X at 6.26 pm.
