The Chief Minister, who has Z-category security cover, is also likely to get an Advanced Security Liaison (ASL), while more commandos have been deployed to surround her at public engagements.

The Chief Minister has also been given area-specific security, under which all locations she visits would be monitored.

Her security was reviewed hours after the Chief Minister was attacked during a ‘Jan Sunwai‘ programme at her camp office in Civil Lines on Wednesday morning.

Reacting to the incident, the Chief Minister had later termed the assault part of a “well-planned conspiracy to kill her”.

The accused, Rajesh Bhai Khimji Bhai Sakriya, a 41-year-old resident of Rajkot (Gujarat), was arrested and was being interrogated.
