Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Arunachal Pradesh today, said that he loves the North East from the heart and highlighted that the connectivity has improved under the BJP’s rule. Taking a dig at Congress, PM Modi said that the Opposition never paid attention to Arunachal.

“As a Prime Minister, I have come to the northeast more than 70 times. I love the North East from the heart, and that is why we have erased the distance of the heart and brought Delhi closer to you,” he said while addressing a rally in Itanagar.

Taking a swipe at the Congress, the PM stressed that the ministers barely visited the northeastern states under Congress’s rule.

“Parties like Congress thought there were so few people and only two Lok Sabha seats, so why pay attention to Arunachal? This mindset of Congress caused significant harm to Arunachal and the entire North East. The BJP has freed India from the Congress mindset. Delhi is now closer to the North East, and the distance of the heart from the region has reduced,” he said.

“My visit to Arunachal has become special. On the first day of Navratri, I got to witness such beautiful mountains… Next-generation GST reforms have been implemented today. GST Bachat Utsav has begun… Arunachal has been given power, health, tourism, and many other sectors’ projects,” added the Prime Minister.

PM Modi laid the foundation stone of several infrastructure projects worth Rs 5,125.37 crore in Arunachal Pradesh on Monday.

The Prime Minister further said that when Congress was in power, Arunachal Pradesh received only Rs 6,000 crore from central taxes in ten years, but under BJP, the state has received Rs 1 lakh crore in taxes in the last 10 years.

“In other words, the BJP government has given Arunachal 16 times more funds,” he said.
