A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officer’s quick response saved a passenger’s life at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport after the traveller collapsed inside the terminal. The officer administered CPR on the spot, reviving the passenger before handing them over to the medical team.
In a viral video, a CISF officer present at the spot quickly rushed to the passenger’s aid and administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The timely intervention revived the passenger, who soon regained consciousness.

The incident highlights the crucial role of alert security staff in handling medical emergencies at one of the country’s busiest airports. The passenger was later handed over to the medical team for further care.
In a post on X, CISF said that the passenger was identified as Mohammad Mokhtar Alam. He was bound for Gaya and collapsed in the Pre-SHA area of Delhi Airport.
“Showing exemplary alertness & presence of mind, SI/Exe Verendra Singh promptly administered CPR, reviving and stabilising the passenger until doctors arrived. Doctors provided initial treatment at the airport and later referred him to the hospital for further care. He is now reported to be in stable condition,” the CISF wrote on X.

Earlier, a doctor from Cuttack’s prestigious SCB Medical College turned saviour when he performed CPR on an elderly woman and saved her life during a flight.
Dr. Jyotirmaya Nayak, a surgery specialist from the Department of Surgery at SCB Medical College, was on a late-night journey from Bhubaneswar to Jaipur (via Delhi) to attend a medical conference when chaos broke out around midnight as an elderly co-passenger suddenly collapsed and lost consciousness mid-flight, Odishatv. in reported.
Dr. Nayak, who was seated nearby, rushed to assist. Acting swiftly, he administered CPR on the spot, helping stabilise the passenger before the flight landed. After the plane touched down, the woman was immediately taken to a nearby medical facility for further treatment.
