Decomposed body of a woman was found stuffed in a suitcase in Maharashtra’s Latur. The suitcase was found in the Tiru river in Chakur taluka of Latur on Sunday. As per the police, the body was in the river for at least five days.

Police are investigating if it is a case of rape and murder. Officials said, on the evening of August 25, they got a call informing them that a suitcase was lying near the canal road at Shelgaon.

The identity of the woman remains unknown; the police suspect that her age would be between 15-25 years.

Preliminary investigation has revealed injury marks on the woman’s face and body. The body has been sent for post-mortem and efforts are being made to identify her.

Delhi: Missing Woman’s Decomposed Body Found

In another case, the body of a 22-year-old woman, reported missing since August 21, was found in Delhi’s Dabri area. The decomposed body has been identified as Roopa, from 40 Foota Road.

“She had left home around 10:30 pm on August 21 while speaking to someone on the phone,” the official was quoted by PTI.

Police arrived at the location after locals reported a decomposed body found in the area.

The initial investigation revealed that Roopa, who previously worked as a domestic help, had been unemployed for the past three months. Her mother had filed a missing report, stating that her daughter had been missing since the night of August 21, according to the police.

The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the locality to trace Roopa’s last movements and to identify the person she was speaking to on the phone before her disappearance.
