The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust convened its meeting in Ayodhya, where several significant decisions regarding the Ram temple construction were taken. Committee Chairman Nripendra Mishra stated that no new work related to the temple will be started, rather priority will be given to previously approved projects and ongoing construction works.

Providing financial details, Mishra informed that around Rs 1,400 crore has been spent on the construction of the Ram temple so far. Out of this, Rs 1,100 crore has already been paid from the Trust’s account. The remaining expenditure covers projects such as the upcoming museum and allied works.

The Trust is simultaneously building an International Ram Katha Museum, with 20 galleries planned at an estimated cost of about Rs 200 crore. Each gallery will depict episodes from Lord Rama’s life through 10-minute digital presentations.

A dedicated gallery for Lord Hanuman, equipped with 7D technology to showcase his stories, is also part of the project. The museum will further highlight Lord Rama’s global legacy by depicting the countries where he is worshipped and how he is perceived there.

Boundary Wall And Gates

Officials informed that work on the temple complex’s boundary wall has commenced, with Engineers India Limited (EIL) handing over responsibilities to two contractors to accelerate progress. Special attention is being given to Gate No 3 and Gate No 11 for crowd management.

While Gate No 11 is scheduled to open from October 10, work on Gate No 3 will be completed later. Plans are in place to dedicate these gates to prominent personalities of the sadhu community. The target for completion of all such works has been fixed for December 2025.

Manpower and Security Concerns

On the pace of construction, an L&T board director noted, “It is not possible to speed up the work without increasing the number of workers.” Currently, L&T has employed 1,200 workers, while the State Construction Corporation has engaged 250 workers in museum and related projects.

The Trust acknowledged that the absence of workers during festival periods has emerged as a major challenge, for which strict guidelines have been issued.

The meeting also addressed security measures, including flag hoisting, financial transparency, and administrative challenges. The police department has already procured security equipment, which will be installed at the site soon.
