According to a report in Gujarat Samachar, the car was abandoned near the Viratnagar overbridge in Odhav area of the city.

It is learnt that residents alerted police after noticing a foul smell from the parked vehicle. Soon after, a team from Odhav police station reached the spot and recovered Rudani’s body from car’s trunk.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the hexagenarian died after suffering multiple stab wounds inflicted with a sharp weapon, possibly knife, Desh Gujarat reported.

Desh Gujarat cited police officials as saying that Rudani was last seen by his family as he headed to a construction site, passing through the Ring Road area.

The Odhav police have registered a case based on a complaint filed by the victim’s son.

Investigators also reviewed CCTV footage from nearby locations and analyzed the victim’s call records in order to trace his movements and identify potential suspects. Based on these leads, police tracked the suspects to neighbouring Rajasthan. According to Desh Gujarat report, three individuals were apprehended from Rajasthan’s Sirohi. The arrested accused have been identified as Himanshu alias Rahul Rathod, Pappu Meghwal, and a minor.

Further, the body has been sent for post-mortem examination. An investigation into the case is underway.

Rudani was a prominent builder and respected member of the Patidar community in the city. His firm, DV Developers, is known for its involvement in several residential projects. His murder has sent shockwaves through the city’s construction industry and community organizations.

The incident was reported just a day after another violent crime in the city, in which a young man was murdered in Paldi.
