18-Year-Old MBBS Student Raped, Blackmailed For A Month In Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar

As per the complainant, the accused invited her to the hotel and raped her after spiking her drink. They also recorded the act and blackmailed her.

An 18-year-old MBBS student alleged rape and blackmail by her acquaintance and his friends for around a month. As per the police, the complainant was raped at a hotel in northwest Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar area. She also alleged that the accused filmed the act and blackmailed her into further compliance.

As per a report by Hindustan Times, the 20-year-old accused is absconding and a search operation is underway.

The victim is originally from Haryana’s Jind and was residing in a hostel in Delhi. The accused is also from Jind and, as per the complaint, the two lived in the same neighbourhood.

The report stated that the incident took place on September 9 when the girl had visited a hotel for a party. The accused spiked her drink and raped her. She was blackmailed for a month into sexual acts through the recorded pictures and videos.

The girl finally confided in her family and filed a complaint with the police on Thursday. The police have registered a case and the investigation is underway.

Assistant Professor Arrested for Harassing MBBS Student

In another case reported last week, an assistant professor at Delhi’s Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital was arrested for allegedly harassing an MBBS student on the hospital premises, police said.

In a statement, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Prashant Gautam said the GTB Enclave police station received a PCR call at 12:09 pm on September 26 from a woman, who reported that she had been physically harassed inside GTB Hospital at Dilshad Garden.

“The complainant, a medical student, alleged that she was physically harassed by Assistant Professor Dr Mohammed Shaqir Naeem,” the DCP told PTI.

Based on her statement, a case has been registered under sections pertaining to assault or the use of criminal force against women with the intent to outrage their modesty, sexual harassment, and criminal intimidation, he said.

Further investigation is underway, the DCP added.
