Golfer Tiger Woods has been charged with driving under the influence after a car crash in Florida, police say.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office said the 15-time major champion had also been charged with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test.

Woods, 50, passed a breathalyser test after the crash on Jupiter Island on Friday, but refused a urine test having had to crawl out of the passenger side of his vehicle after colliding with a pressure cleaner truck.

Authorities also confirmed no-one sustained any injuries in the incident which took place on Beach Road just after 14:00 local time (about 19:00 GMT).
