Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts has announced she is pregnant with her first child.

The star said in a social media post that she is five months’ pregnant and that she and her partner, footballer Mitch Hahn, “can’t wait” to meet their baby in spring.

Roberts, 40, could be seen cradling her baby bump in front of a Christmas tree in a photo gallery shared on Instagram.

“Mitch and I have had the most magical Christmas Day sharing the most precious news with our families,” the post read.

She added the pair had been “keeping a secret” before revealing the happy news.

Fellow celebrities congratulated the couple in the comments on the Instagram post, with bandmate Kimberley Walsh saying it was the “best news ever”.

Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards – who is expecting her second child – wrote: “The best news. Congratulations beautiful!”

Comedian and Celebrity Traitors winner Alan Carr also commented: “Amazing news!! Sending you much love!”

Girls Aloud members Cheryl, Nadine Coyle, Walsh and Roberts reunited for an arena tour of UK and Ireland in 2024 – their first tour in more than 11 years.

They dedicated the new shows to bandmate Sarah Harding, who died from cancer in 2021, aged 39.

Last year marked 21 years since they won TV talent show Popstars: The Rivals and formed the band.

Roberts has released her own music and also starred in musicals.

She is currently starring in the West End production of hit musical Hadestown, which tells a version of ancient Greek myth Orpheus, and is due to end her run as goddess Persephone in January.
