Volkswagen will unveil a fully electric compact SUV at this year’s IAA Mobility, to be held in Munich from September 9 to 14.

The new concept SUV, part of Volkswagen’s ID. family, offers a preview of an affordable electric model in the T-Cross class that is expected to hit European markets next year. Kai Grünitz, Volkswagen Board Member for Technical Development, said the vehicle would set benchmarks for design, quality, operation and space within its segment.

Alongside the SUV, Volkswagen will present the all-new T-Roc, the ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE edition developed with performance sportswear brand Bogner, and the Golf GTI Edition 50 – its most powerful GTI production model to date, the company’s statement said.

Sustainability and innovation at peak

The brand’s exhibit will also include interactive elements such as a GTI History Wall, racing simulators, a Future Materials Lab showcasing recyclable materials, and AI-powered personalisation features. Visitors can also join discovery rallies and enjoy live concerts, keynote sessions and culinary offerings including Volkswagen’s signature currywurst. Volkswagen Board Member for Sales, Marketing and After Sales, Martin Sander, said “The IAA is more than just a trade fair – it is a stage where we make it possible to experience Volkswagen’s vision of mobility for everyone.”
