Vietnam’s VinGroup has expressed interest in setting up electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing and battery storage facilities in Telangana, following a meeting between its Asia CEO, Pham Sanh Chau, and chief minister A Revanth Reddy in New Delhi.

According to the Times of India’s report, Telangana chief minister’s office, Pham Sanh Chau conveyed the conglomerate’s intent to evaluate opportunities across EVs, battery storage and renewable energy, including solar and wind projects, in line with the state’s push for sustainable and clean energy growth.

The VinGroup executive also showed interest in the state’s proposed Bharath Future City, describing it as a forward-looking initiative and signalling the company’s willingness to invest in its development.

Revanth Reddy invited Pham Sanh Chau and VinGroup chairman Pham Nhat Vuong to attend the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025, scheduled for December 8 and 9.

Senior state government officials—including Sanjay Kumar, special chief secretary (industries and commerce), B Ajith Reddy, special secretary to the chief minister, and Dr Gaurav Uppal, secretary (coordination, GoI projects and CSS)—were also present at the meeting.

The discussions mark a step towards expanding Telangana’s global investment partnerships and attracting green and innovation-led development, the CMO said.
