Deliveries of the Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive are expected to begin in July 2026.Tesla has launched the 2026 Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive in India at an introductory price of ₹50.89 lakh, as the Elon Musk-led firm expands its presence in the country’s premium EV segment.
The company said the new variant of the Model Y, which it described as the world’s best-selling EV as of March 2026, comes with a range of hardware, design and cabin upgrades aimed at improving performance and interior sophistication.
The Model Y Premium features an all-black interior theme with a blacked-out headliner and updated premium trim elements. It also gets a larger 16-inch touchscreen with improved responsiveness and a revised user interface for vehicle controls, navigation and entertainment functions.

Tesla is also offering a new “Zen Grey” interior option, designed to provide a more minimalist cabin experience.
The electric SUV offers storage space of up to 2,138 litres and can seat up to five passengers with power-folding seats. Powered by ultra-responsive motors, the vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.9 seconds and delivers a claimed driving range of up to 500 km on the WLTP cycle.
Deliveries of the Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive are expected to begin in July 2026.
The launch follows Tesla’s recent introduction of the six-seater Tesla Model Y L in India. Priced from ₹61.99 lakh, the Model Y L offers a claimed WLTP range of up to 681 km and cargo space of up to 2,539 litres.
Both Model Y variants have received top safety ratings from agencies including NHTSA, IIHS, Euro NCAP, ANCAP and C-IASI, according to the company.

The company said buyers can purchase the Model Y Premium with EMIs starting from ₹39,990 with a down payment of ₹6 lakh. Tesla also claimed customers could save up to ₹20,000 per month through lower fuel and maintenance costs compared to conventional vehicles.
