Škoda Auto Volkswagen India (SAVWIPL) on Friday said it has crossed the two million production mark, a major milestone in its 25 years of manufacturing in the country.

According to the official press release, the achievement comes during a phase of record commercial momentum for the Group, with October 2025 emerging as its most successful month since formation — further cementing India’s strategic importance within the global network.

“Every milestone we achieve in India reflects our strong belief in the country’s potential — not just as a market but as a driving force in the future of mobility. The two-million mark is the outcome of consistent investment in people, technology and local capability,” said Piyush Arora, CEO & Managing Director, Škoda Auto Volkswagen India.

It added that over 500,000 vehicles have been built on this architecture, which underpins the Škoda Kushaq, Slavia, Kylaq, and the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus. The last 500,000 units were produced in just three-and-a-half years, underscoring the strong domestic and international demand for India-engineered models.

Škoda Auto India reported its best-ever 10-month run, more than doubling year-on-year to reach 61,607 units in 2025. Volkswagen India posted its highest-ever monthly sales for the Virtus during the Diwali period, with the model maintaining over 40 per cent share in the premium sedan segment over 40 months.

Luxury arm growth

The Group’s luxury and super-luxury brands also delivered strong performances. Bentley India began a new chapter with revamped operations and new showrooms in Mumbai and Bengaluru. Porsche India expanded to 13 touchpoints and added more than 4,400 customers in six years.

Audi strengthened its premium positioning as the RS Q8 won Performance Car of the Year at the 2025 AutoX Awards, while Audi Approved: Plus recorded 5 per cent growth between January and September 2025. Audi also expanded its EV charging network to over 6,500 points under Phase II of its Charge My Audi programme.

Lamborghini India continued its upward trajectory, recording its best-ever annual performance in 2024 with deliveries of 113 units — a 10 per cent rise over 2023. The launch of the Temerario in India marked the completion of Lamborghini’s hybrid transition under its Direzione Cor Tauri strategy.

Exports continue to be a key strength for the Group, with more than 700,000 vehicles shipped from India to Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

SAVWIPL operates two facilities in Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. The Pune plant, supported by nearly €600 million of investment, was established to drive higher volumes and localisation. Together, both plants support the Group’s multi-brand and multi-market strategy.
