Maruti Suzuki India recorded a 26 per cent year-on-year rise in vehicle production in September 2025, driven by higher dispatches to meet festive season demand. According to a regulatory filing, the country’s largest carmaker rolled out 2,01,915 units last month, up from 1,59,743 units in September 2024.

Production of compact cars such as the Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, and Swift rose sharply to 93,301 units from 68,413 units a year earlier. Manufacturing of utility vehicles, including the Brezza, Ertiga and Fronx, also saw a robust 27 per cent increase to 79,496 units from 62,752 units in the same period last year.

The company produced 12,318 units of entry-level models Alto and S-Presso, marginally higher than 12,155 units in the year-ago month. There was no production of the Ciaz sedan in September, compared with 1,687 units in the corresponding period last year.

Eeco production rose to 13,201 units from 11,702 units, while the Super Carry light commercial vehicle output grew to 3,599 units from 3,034 units in the same month of 2024.

Earlier this week, Maruti Suzuki reported a 3 per cent year-on-year rise in total sales at 1,89,665 units in September. However, domestic passenger vehicle wholesales declined 8 per cent to 1,32,820 units, as the company continued adjusting inventory amid model transitions and production scheduling for festive demand.
