
Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the new Thar SUV, introducing design changes, added comfort features and updated connectivity. The model is priced from ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.
Design and features
The refreshed Thar comes with a redesigned front grille, dual-tone bumper and R18 alloy wheels. The cabin features a black dashboard and a new steering wheel. Six colour options are available, including Tango Red and Battleship Grey.
Comfort additions include rear AC vents, a sliding armrest, a rear-view camera, door-mounted power windows, a dead pedal (available on the automatic variant), rear wash and wiper, and an A-pillar entry assist handle.
Connectivity and engine options
The SUV is equipped with a 26.03 cm HD infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with Type-C USB ports. Safety and utility features include a Tyre Direction Monitoring System and Adventure Stats Gen II, which provides off-road data such as altitude, temperature and steering direction.
The new Thar is being offered with three engine choices: a 2.0 mStallion petrol, a 2.2L mHawk diesel, and a D117 CRDe diesel. Transmission options include 6-speed manual and automatic units, available in both rear-wheel and four-wheel drive configurations.
