Kia SeltosKia Corporation on Monday reported its highest-ever annual global sales, delivering 3,135,803 vehicles in calendar year 2025, marking a 2 per cent increase over the previous year.
Sales outside Korea, excluding special purpose vehicles, rose 2 per cent year-on-year to 2,584,238 units, while domestic sales in Korea stood at 545,776 units, up 1 per cent.
The Sportage emerged as Kia’s top-selling model globally in 2025, with sales of 569,688 units. It was followed by the Seltos SUV at 299,766 units and the Sorento SUV at 264,673 units, underlining the company’s strong performance in the SUV segment.
Kia said its record annual sales were driven by the launch of new models, including the EV3 electric vehicle, the K4 sedan and the hybrid Carnival MPV, along with improved industrial conditions and flexible business operations that helped stabilise production and vehicle supply.
Outlook for year ahead
Looking ahead, the Korean automaker has set a global sales target of 3.35 million units for 2026. Of this, Kia expects to sell 2.775 million vehicles outside Korea and 565,000 units in the domestic market. The company also plans to sell 10,000 special-purpose vehicles globally.
Kia said it managed to sustain global growth momentum in 2025 through market-specific strategies, despite an uncertain industry environment marked by tariff-related challenges. The company focused on expanding its hybrid portfolio in the US and on strengthening its position in Europe by increasing electric vehicle volumes.
In 2026, Kia plans to further bolster its global presence by expanding hybrid options across key SUV models, including the Telluride and Seltos, while increasing production capacity and reinforcing supply chain sustainability.
