new Kia SeltosKia India has crossed the milestone of 500,000 connected cars on Indian roads, underscoring growing customer adoption of connected and digital mobility features, the company said on Friday.
Connected car variants now account for nearly 40 per cent of Kia India’s domestic wholesale volumes, supported by the rollout of Kia Connect 2.0 with ccNC. The automaker said the milestone reflects increasing demand for technology-enabled features across its product portfolio.
The Kia Seltos remains the largest contributor to the connected car base, accounting for about 70 per cent of the company’s connected vehicle sales. The Sonet and Carens have also seen strong uptake, indicating broader acceptance of connected technologies across mass and mid-size segments.
Atul Sood, senior vice-president, sales and marketing, Kia India, said the company’s focus on connected features and customer engagement initiatives has helped drive sustained adoption. He added that customer retention beyond the complimentary subscription period points to the continued relevance of Kia’s connected services.
Kia said features such as over-the-air software updates, remote diagnostics, digital key access, surround-view monitoring, and multilingual voice recognition are among the most frequently used by customers.
In the electric vehicle segment, Kia India has achieved 100 per cent connected car penetration. EV-specific connected features include smart connected home chargers and Drive Green, a gamified platform that tracks eco-friendly driving behaviour.
