Windsor is part of its wider strategy to diversify its portfolio under the JSW MG Motor India joint venture, formed in 2023.JSW MG Motor India has announced that sales of the MG Windsor have crossed 50,000 units in a little over a year, which the company says makes it the first four-wheel EV in India to reach this figure within this period. The company said it sold five Windsor units every hour on average.
According to the company, the milestone reflects demand from both metro and non-metro regions. Managing Director Anurag Mehrotra said the company aimed to offer a practical mobility solution while supporting electric vehicle adoption in India. He added that the sales milestone supports the company’s plans to expand its portfolio of new energy vehicles.
The company recently launched the MG Windsor Inspire, a limited-edition series unveiled by Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways.
According to MG, the Windsor is positioned as an intelligent CUV and is offered at a starting Battery-as-a-Service price of ₹9.99 lakh plus ₹3.9 per km. The vehicle delivers 100 kW of power and 200 Nm of torque.
It includes a design package described by the company as ‘AeroGlide’ and features seats that recline to 135 degrees. A 15.6-inch touch display is provided on the centre console.
