Jeep on Friday announced its strategic plan Jeep 2.0, reaffirming its long-term focus on India within its wider Asia Pacific strategy. The plan aims to expand localisation, strengthen the aftersales network and build export capability from India.

The company said the plan is designed to reinforce its presence in India by aligning global products with local requirements and raising localisation levels. Jeep targets 90 per cent localisation at its Ranjangaon plant, up from the current 65–70 per cent. The plant, with an annual capacity of 160,000 vehicles, will remain a core manufacturing hub for domestic supply and exports.

Jeep currently exports the Compass, Meridian and Commander to Japan, Australia and New Zealand. It plans to expand exports to markets in Africa and North America. Future product introductions in India are planned from 2027 onwards, with periodic updates to the existing lineup.

Shailesh Hazela, CEO and Managing Director of Stellantis India, said the plan sets out how the brand will “sharpen our product strategy and strengthen the customer experience year after year,” supported by deeper localisation and global product alignment. He added that the company aims to provide sustained support to existing customers to ensure confidence in the brand.

Focus on ownership and community building

The company said customer confidence remains a key element of the plan. Under the Confidence 7 programme, Jeep has introduced initiatives including a pre-maintenance programme, a buyback scheme and multiyear extended warranties.

Jeep aims to expand its owner community and grow its Jeep Clubs network. Experiences such as Jeep Trails and Camp Jeep will continue to play a role in community engagement. The brand is now present in 70 cities with more than 85 sales and service touchpoints.

Jeep said 2025 was a transitionary period for the brand in India. The Limited-Edition Jeep Wrangler Willys 41 sold out within seven days, and the company launched the Anniversary Limited Edition Grand Cherokee.

The Jeep lineup in India includes the Wrangler, Compass, Meridian and Grand Cherokee. India remains the first country outside North America to manufacture four Jeep models locally for export to right-hand-drive markets.
