Hyundai Motor India Ltd on Wednesday announced that it will increase prices of its vehicles by up to ₹12,800 from June 1, 2026, citing rising input costs, higher commodity prices and increased operational expenses.

The price increase will vary by model and variant, a press statement read.

Hyundai Motor India said the revised prices will now take effect from June 1, 2026, rather than the earlier proposed timeline of May 2026.

“The price increase has been necessitated due to rising input costs, increased commodity prices and higher operational expenses, amongst other reasons,” the company said.

The automaker added that while it continues to optimise costs and minimise the impact on customers, it has been compelled to pass on part of the increased costs to the market through a nominal price increase.

Hyundai Motor India had already raised prices by 0.6 per cent in January this year.

Automobile manufacturers are coming under fresh cost pressure as the conflict in West Asia drives up prices of critical raw materials, with rising input costs likely to impact profit margins and dampen demand in the coming quarters, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has noted.

Prices of steel, metals and plastics — key inputs used in vehicle manufacturing — have risen sharply since March due to supply disruptions and volatility in global commodity markets amid continuing geopolitical tensions.

Last week, India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India, raised prices across its portfolio by up to ₹30,000, effective June 1, 2026.

The automaker attributed the increase to sustained inflationary pressures and rising input costs associated with manufacturing and logistics.

Tata Motors had also raised prices of its internal combustion engine (ICE) passenger vehicles by 0.5 per cent from April 1 to partly offset higher input costs.

Luxury carmakers Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi also announced price increases of up to 2 per cent, with Mercedes-Benz and BMW implementing a second round of hikes after raising prices in January.
