Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) on Wednesday said its mid-size SUV Creta has recorded its highest-ever annual sales of 2 lakh units in a single calendar year, underlining the model’s sustained leadership in one of India’s most competitive passenger vehicle segments.

The milestone translates to average daily sales of around 550 units. The achievement coincides with Creta completing 10 years in the Indian market, during which it has consistently emerged as the highest-selling mid-size SUV in every full year since launch.

HMIL said the Creta has grown at a compound annual growth rate of over 9 per cent between 2016 and 2025. The model currently commands over 34 per cent market share in the mid-size SUV segment, placing it well ahead of rivals.

Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO-designate of Hyundai Motor India, said the Creta has also been the highest-selling SUV in India on a cumulative basis between 2020 and 2025. He noted that the share of first-time buyers for the model has risen sharply, from 13 per cent in 2020 to 32 per cent in 2025.

Customer preferences have also evolved, with sunroof-equipped variants accounting for more than 70 per cent of Creta sales in 2025, while diesel powertrains contributed about 44 per cent.

The Creta is offered with multiple powertrain options, including petrol, diesel and electric variants, across manual and automatic transmissions.
