Honda Motor unveiled the world premiere of the Honda 0 α (alpha) — a next-generation electric SUV prototype under its Honda 0 Series — at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. The company said the production version of the model will go on sale globally, with initial markets including Japan and India, starting in 2027.

The Honda 0 α will serve as a “gateway model” for the Honda 0 Series, following the Honda 0 Saloon and Honda 0 SUV that debuted at CES 2025 earlier this year. It is designed as a lifestyle-oriented electric SUV that blends seamlessly into both urban and natural environments.

Built on Honda’s “Thin, Light, and Wise” development philosophy, the Honda 0 α focuses on achieving high efficiency through lightweight engineering and intelligent design. The SUV features a low-height body that maintains ample ground clearance and a spacious interior, balancing aerodynamics with comfort.

Diving deep into design theory

Its exterior design showcases Honda’s evolved styling language — sleek, minimal, and futuristic — with a wide stance reflecting stability and agility. The front integrates the headlights, charging lid, and illuminated Honda emblem into a unified “screen area,” while the rear end sports a distinctive U-shaped light bar that merges the tail lamps, turn signals, and reverse lights for a modern signature look. Honda is expected to share further details on powertrain, range, and connected technologies closer to the model’s production phase.
