A high-level delegation from US automaker Ford, led by Vice President Mathew Godlewski, met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Monday to discuss the company’s manufacturing and expansion plans in the state.

The meeting at the Secretariat focused on expediting Ford’s manufacturing operations at Maraimalai Nagar, expanding its Global Capability Centres (GCCs), and exploring future investment opportunities in Tamil Nadu, state Industries Minister S Keerthana said.

“The CM assured the delegation of the Tamil Nadu Government’s full support and encouraged Ford to fully utilise its Maraimalai Nagar manufacturing facility while advancing its expansion plans,” the minister said in a post on X.

The delegation included Ford India Managing Director Simonetta Verdi, Ford India Production Director Dheeraj Dikshit, Country Director Shripad Bhat and Director V Raja Vimala Kumar.

The discussions also centred on accelerating the development of Ford’s production facility at Maraimalai Nagar, where the company had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government last year for engine manufacturing.

Under the MoU, Ford had committed an investment of ₹3,250 crore towards engine production at the facility, marking the company’s renewed focus on manufacturing operations in the state.
