BMW Group India on Monday launched the all-new BMW M440i xDrive Convertible in India at an ex-showroom price of ₹1.09 crore, introducing the performance-focused open-top model as a completely built-up unit (CBU).

The convertible is powered by BMW’s B58 inline 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 374 hp and 500 Nm of torque. The company said the model can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.9 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph.

“The all-new BMW M440i xDrive Convertible exemplifies BMW’s passion for combining exhilarating performance with timeless elegance. With its unmistakable design, powerful M tuned performance and refined open top driving experience, it delivers a new expression of sporting freedom,” said Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO, BMW Group India.

The M440i xDrive Convertible features an eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission and comes with BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive system, along with Adaptive M suspension, M Sport rear differential and M Sport brakes.

Key features
A key highlight is its panel bow soft-top roof, which can be operated at speeds of up to 50 kmph and takes 18 seconds to open or close.

BMW said the car will be offered in eight exterior colour options, including Portimao Blue, Brooklyn Grey, Cape York Green, Fire Red, Arctic Race Blue, Black Sapphire, Mineral White and Alpine White. The interior upholstery choices include Black, Tacora Red and Cognac.

The model comes equipped with BMW’s curved display set-up, featuring a 14.9-inch infotainment screen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, along with BMW iDrive Operating System 8.5 and connected car features such as Digital Key Plus and remote services via the MyBMW app.

Safety features include six airbags, ABS with brake assist, dynamic stability control, traction control and tyre pressure monitoring.

BMW Financial Services is offering the model under its BMW SMART Finance programme, including an assured buyback of 63 per cent after three years or 10,000 km, the company said.
