New Delhi: BMW India has crossed the milestone of 1,000 units sold of its flagship electric sedan, the BMW i7, marking a key moment for the luxury electric vehicle (EV) segment in the country.

The BMW i7, positioned at the top of the company’s electric portfolio, has gained traction among customers seeking a blend of luxury, technology and sustainability. According to BMW India, the model’s performance underscores a shift in buyer preferences towards electrified luxury vehicles, even as the overall EV market continues to evolve. While volumes remain limited compared with mass-market EVs, premium models such as the i7 are increasingly seen as indicators of long-term trends in India’s electric mobility landscape.

The milestone also reflects intensifying competition in the luxury EV space, with global and domestic automakers expanding their electric portfolios in India. As more high-end electric models enter the market, the luxury EV segment is expected to play a growing role in shaping the future of India’s automotive industry.
