Gold Silver Rate Today (May 5): Metals Climb As Safe Haven, Check Current Rates Across Major Cities In India

Gold Silver Rate Today:Gold and silver prices moved higher on Tuesday, supported by fresh buying interest and firm global cues, with both precious metals recording gains in futures trade.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures for August delivery advanced by Rs 254, or 0.17 per cent, to trade at Rs 1,53,100 per 10 grams, with a turnover of 74 lots. Analysts attributed the rise to fresh positions created by market participants, backed by steady demand in the spot market.

Tracking the domestic trend, international gold prices also strengthened. In New York, gold futures were trading 0.50 per cent higher at $4,544.62 per ounce.

Silver prices also edged up on Tuesday, supported by geopolitical concerns, particularly tensions in West Asia, which kept safe-haven demand intact.

On the MCX, silver futures for July delivery rose by Rs 225 to Rs 2,44,120 per kg in a turnover of 982 lots. This marked an increase of 0.09 per cent in futures trade. Analysts said the uptick was driven by fresh buying activity among traders.

In the global market, Comex silver futures climbed 2.36 per cent to $78.29 per ounce, reflecting continued strength in international prices.
