Gold Silver Rate Today:Gold and silver prices traded higher on Wednesday, supported by cautious positioning ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s interest rate decision, even as both metals moved within a tight range.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures for June 5 opened at Rs 1,50,720 per 10 grams, marking a rise of Rs 693 or 0.46 per cent compared with the previous close of Rs 1,50,027. However, the metal trimmed early gains and was trading slightly lower by Rs 56 or 0.04 per cent at Rs 1,49,971 around 11:30 am. During the session, gold touched a low of Rs 1,49,720 and a high of Rs 1,51,527.

Silver prices also moved higher. MCX silver futures for July 3 began the session at Rs 2,43,589 per kg, up Rs 826 or 0.34 per cent from the previous close of Rs 2,42,763. At the time of writing, silver was trading at Rs 2,38,738, up Rs 1,393 or 0.6 per cent. The metal recorded an intraday low of Rs 2,37,607 and a high of Rs 2,38,750.

In international markets, both metals remained in positive territory. COMEX gold rose 0.19 per cent to $4,616 per ounce, while COMEX silver gained 0.81 per cent to $73.81 per ounce.

Market experts noted that MCX gold is encountering resistance near the Rs 1,50,000-Rs 1,51,000 range, with further upside dependent on a sustained move above these levels. A break above Rs 1,51,000 could push prices towards Rs 1,52,000-Rs 1,53,000, while slipping below Rs 1,49,000 may trigger profit booking.

For silver, resistance is seen in the Rs 2,44,000-Rs 2,46,000 zone, while a fall below Rs 2,43,000 could drag prices towards Rs 2,41,000. Analysts said volatility is likely to persist in the near term amid global macro uncertainty and geopolitical developments.
