- Gold and silver prices rose significantly on Thursday.

Gold Silver Rate Today:Gold and silver prices moved higher on Thursday, extending gains in early trade even as comments from US President Donald Trump hinted at easing geopolitical tensions and smoother passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures for the June 5 contract rose up to 0.67 per cent, or Rs 1,042, to touch an intraday high of Rs 1,54,990 around 10:57 am. Silver futures also gained momentum, climbing 1.58 per cent, or Rs 3,993, to hit Rs 2,55,735 during the session.
At the last count, gold was trading at Rs 1,54,911, up Rs 963 or 0.63 per cent, after moving between an intraday low of Rs 1,54,501 and the session high. Silver was quoted at Rs 2,54,997, higher by Rs 3,255 or 1.3 per cent, after touching a low of Rs 2,53,720 earlier in the day.
The uptick in bullion prices comes amid hopes of easing tensions in West Asia, after Trump indicated progress towards reducing friction between Israel and Lebanon and highlighted developments around the Strait of Hormuz.
Market experts said sentiment in precious metals remains mildly positive, supported by broader macroeconomic factors, although a sustained uptrend would require further confirmation.
