Breaking: NIA Conducts Forest Searches in Anantnag in Delhi Car Blast Investigation

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has launched an intensive search operation in the forest areas of Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir, in connection with the Delhi car blast case. NIA teams, accompanied by Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF personnel, are conducting ground searches after taking key accused, including Dr. Adil and Jasim Bilal Wani, to the location. According to sources, the operation is based on inputs gathered during custodial interrogation, indicating that weapons, explosives, or other suspicious materials may have been hidden in the forested region. Investigators are exploring whether the area was used as a logistical hideout by the accused. Security officials believe Dr. Adil may have played a technical role in the alleged module, with possible knowledge related to weapon handling or drone-based activities, though the agency has not issued an official confirmation. On the basis of Jasim’s indications, multiple locations were searched earlier, and today’s operation is focused on deeper forest zones. Reports also claim that a firearm was previously recovered from a locker linked to Dr. Adil at Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, which intensified the investigation. The NIA has not yet released a detailed statement, and further information is awaited.
