The verdict in the Kerala actress-assault case has triggered an emotional reaction from several celebrities and the actress Shafna Nizam has openly declared that she has lost faith in the justice system.Reacting to the judgment through Instagram, Shafna did not hold back her heartbreak and frustration. In a powerful post, she wrote, “Avalkoppam!! Always n Forever!! Losing hope… what’s the justice given for the victim who suffered and whose life was turned upside down? The sleepless nights, the breakdowns, the pain, the assault, the harsh words, the character assassination — none of it fades. But still, if justice was served, at least her broken world would feel like it was heard… at least the truth would stand when she no longer could… Trust in justice is gone, shattered the same way the victim was..” Meanwhile, Shafna has appeared in Dileep’s ‘Aagathan’ which was released in 2009.

The verdict after eight years

For the unversed, the attack, in which a well-known actress was assaulted inside a moving car, happened eight years ago. After years of hearings and public debates, Ernakulam Principal Sessions Judge Honey M. Varghese delivered the verdict. The court declared the first to sixth accused, Pulsar Suni, Martin Antony, R. Manikandan, V.P. Vijeesh, H. Saleem, and Pradeep, guilty, ruling that all charges against them had been proven beyond doubt. Their sentence is set to be pronounced on December 12. However, the court acquitted actor Dileep, the eighth accused, stating that the prosecution failed to establish the alleged conspiracy against him.

Dileep reacts

Moments after the verdict, Dileep addressed the media with relief etched on his face. He said, “Truth has won today. I have been waiting for this moment for eight years. I withstood everything because I was innocent. My family went through pain nobody should ever experience. I believed the truth would prevail, and today it has.” Go to Source
