Ex-DOGE lead Elon Musk stirred a row after posting on X that “raising a foreign flag is treason and should result in immediate deportation.” His remark came in response to a video showing Syrian immigrants in Germany celebrating a milestone they referred to as “Liberation Day,” marking the first anniversary of the fall of the Assad regime. Musk’s post reflects a larger, more MAGA-like pattern: In recent months, he has repeatedly criticised the European Union and immigration policies across Western countries. Musk was fined a multibillion-euro block against his social media platform X by the EU. He described the EU bloc as a “bureaucratic monster” and called for its abolition. The Tesla CEO even claimed that national sovereignty should be restored to individual European states and that a nation that does not share a common culture is no nation at all. His stance on migration is also hardline, with selective aggression against criminals. He said on X: “Close the borders and deport criminals.”At the same time, Musk has voiced support for the legal immigration of skilled workers, including H-1B visa,s to the United States. He said the US has “benefitted immensely from talented [foreign] engineers and scientists.” His stance on H1-B aligns with the MAGA chief, Trump himself. However, he condemns the use of visa for illegal and illicit practices like scams and fraud.Musk has constantly spoken about migrant‑linked crime and violence going on in Europe. He has also condemned traditional media, or what he likes to call legacy media, are downplaying the trend. He has also voiced support for controversial right-wing figures like
