Mark your calendars for December 5, 2025, as Nandamuri Balakrishna returns in ‘Akhanda 2: Thaandavam’. Following the success of its predecessor, excitement is palpable among fans. Directed by the talented Boyapati Sreenu, this film features Balakrishna in a stunning dual role and has been awarded a U/A certificate.

Nandamuri Balakrishna is all set for the release of his film ‘Akhanda 2: Thaandavam’ on December 5, 2025. The previous installment, which was released in 2021, went on to become one of the biggest hits in Telugu cinema of that year. And hence, the anticipation for its part two is quite high among the audience. The advance booking of the film showcases that the film will have a good day one collection. Nandamuri Balakrishna is back in dual roles

Nandamuri Balakrishna is back in dual roles—Akhanda Rudra Sikandar Aghora and Murali Krishna. The Central Board of Film Certification has granted a U/A certificate to the film. From the teaser and the trailer, it is clear that Balakrishna’s character is driven by a divine power and battles formidable black-magic sorcerers who are aiding India’s adversaries. With NBK’s presence, the film is set to enthrall the audience and emerge as a mass entertainer.

The ensemble star cast and director Boyapati Sreenu

Filmmaker Boyapati Sreenu is back as the director of the sequel. For those unaware, he has also written the script of the film.Meanwhile, the movie features a massive star cast, which includes Samyuktha, Aadhi Pinisetty, Pragya Jaiswal, Harshaali Malhotra, Kabir Duhan Singh, Saswata Chatterjee, Ronson Vincent, Achyuth Kumar, Sangay Tsheltrim, Ravi Mariya, Vikramjeet Virk, Poorna, P. Sai Kumar, and Harsha Chemudu. While Samyukhta is the female lead, Aadhi Pinishetty will be seen as the antagonist of the movie.

The Thaman S musical

Thaman S, who recently did a fantastic job as a music composer for Pawan Kalyan’s ‘They Call Him OG’, has worked on the Balakrishna film. And hence, the excitement among the audience for its music and the background score is quite high. He had also composed music for the first installment of the franchise.Meanwhile, Santosh Detake and C. Ramprasad have worked on the cinematography of the movie. The runtime of the film is 165 minutes, with 91 minutes before the interval and 74 after it.

Pre-release business

According to the Koimoi report, the film is expected to score well at the box office. By afternoon ‘Akhanda 2’ has sold approximately 1.16 lakh tickets (excluding blocked seats) for day one across 3,191 shows nationwide, translating to a gross of about Rs 2.63 crore. When blocked seats are included, the film’s opening-day pre-sales rise to an impressive Rs 6.03 crore at the Indian box office.
