‘Vilayath Buddha’ BO: Film mints only Rs 6 lakhs

‘Vilayath Buddha’ box office collections day 12: Prithviraj Sukumaran's film continues downward trend; mints only Rs 6 lakhs

Despite a challenging box office trajectory, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s ‘Vilayath Buddha’ has managed to garner a global gross of Rs 8.53 crore, with the latest figures showing a mere Rs 6 lakhs on day 12.

Prithviraj Sukumaran’s latest release ‘Vilayath Buddha’ is battling hard to sustain at the box office, but the numbers paint a concerning picture.According to the recent reports, on day 12, the film has managed to collect only Rs 6 lakhs. According to the latest trade figures from the Sacnilk website, the film’s India Gross stands at Rs 5.93 crore, while the Worldwide Gross has reached Rs 8.53 crore. The Overseas collection is Rs 2.60 crore, taking the India Net total to Rs 5.09 crore. From the collections it’s sure that the movie is clearly struggling at the box office.

Mallika Sukumaran’s strong reaction goes viral

While the movie is getting negative reviews, actress Mallika Sukumaran (mother of Prithviraj Sukumaran) has stepped forward with a sharply worded Facebook post. Without naming individuals, she criticised the cyber hate directed at the film and its team, calling out trolls who hide behind locked profiles while attacking actors online. In her post, Mallika wrote that she feels “respect towards those who reacted in support of Shammi” and condemned the so-called online “warriors” who resort to personal attacks for attention. (“Among the so-called heroic warriors who make money without even flinching , who lock their profiles after putting money in their pockets and displaying photos of Krishna, some woman, or an innocent child, I feel respect towards those personalities who reacted in support of Shammi.”)DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers in this article are compiled from our proprietary sources and diverse public data.
