SIR Phase 2 exercise: EC announces revised schedule for 12 states/UTs — check new dates

NEW DELHI: The Election Commission of India on Sunday announced a revised schedule for the second phase of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise of voter rolls for 12 states/UTs. The enumeration deadline has been extended to December 11, pushing it back from the earlier date of December 4. The final roll will now be published on February 14, 2026, instead of the earlier scheduled date of February 7, 2026, the poll body said in an official statement.

The SIR exercise is presently in under way across several states and Union territories, including Uttar Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal.
