In Raisen, a major breakthrough came in the rape case involving a 6-year-old girl as the accused Salman was arrested from Bhopal after a police encounter. According to officials, Salman was being taken for investigation when the police vehicle got punctured near Bhojpur, between Bhopal and Raisen. As the team stepped out to inspect the tyre, Salman snatched a policeman’s pistol and opened fire while attempting to escape. In self-defence, the police retaliated, and a bullet hit Salman in the leg. He was immediately admitted to Bhopal’s JP Hospital for treatment. Police revealed that a reward of ₹30,000 had been announced on Salman, and intelligence teams had strengthened surveillance after receiving inputs that he was spotted in Bhopal’s Gandhi Nagar area late last night. For six days, his movements remain unclear, and further interrogation will take place once his medical condition stabilises. The encounter site showed bloodstains, bullet markers, and the weapon he snatched during the escape attempt. With his arrest, police say a crucial step has been taken toward justice for the minor survivor, whose case has triggered widespread anger and protests across the region.
